OREANDA-NEWS   Attempts by Western countries to disrupt the holding of the second Russia—Africa summit in St. Petersburg have failed, said the special representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov. TASS writes about this.

According to him, the event was attended by no fewer participants than the first summit. As the diplomat pointed out, about "20 first persons, many second persons" took part in the summit. He pointed out that Moscow does not impose anything. "Unlike the West, we respect the sovereign equality of states, as enshrined in the UN Charter," he stressed.

Bogdanov noted that the current state of relations between Russia and African states is "real affairs based on the principles of reciprocity and equal dialogue."

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia, as a full partner, will continue to assist African countries in strengthening their economy, sovereignty and social stability.
