OREANDA-NEWS The government has extended restrictions on the export of mineral fertilizers for the period from June 1 to November 30, 2023. A corresponding resolution has been signed. The total volume of the export quota will exceed 16.3 million tons, the press service of the government reported.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has been instructed to distribute volumes among exporters.

Quotas will not apply to the supply of fertilizers to Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

The government also increased the quota for the export of fertilizers, effective from January 1 to May 31, 2023, by almost 2 million tons (from the previously approved 12.6 million tons) "in connection with the full provision of fertilizers for the domestic market." "This measure will allow producers of mineral fertilizers to export unclaimed remnants of finished products," the report says.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade previously proposed to set the total volume of export quotas for the period from June 1 to November 30, 2023 in the amount of 17.9 million tons. According to the analysts of the telegram channel "My Investments", this implied a significant margin for export opportunities for Russian manufacturers.

The government has introduced quotas for fertilizer exports from December 1, 2021 as one of the measures to curb the rise in food prices. The restrictions have been extended several times.
