OREANDA-NEWS  The Kremlin has a negative attitude towards the EU embargo on Russian oil products, and is taking measures to hedge the risks associated with it, Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, told reporters.

"Negatively, we have already talked about this... But, of course, we are taking measures to hedge our interests from the risks that arise in this regard," Peskov replied to a question from journalists about the attitude of European countries to the embargo on Russian petroleum products. Western oil sanctions came into force on December 5: the European Union stopped accepting Russian oil transported by sea. In addition, the G7 countries, Australia and the EU have imposed a price limit on such oil at $ 60 per barrel, while allowing the marginal cost to be adjusted as necessary. Similar measures for petroleum products will take effect from February 5.
