OREANDA-NEWS Two Be-200ChS amphibious aircraft took off from Rostov-on-Don to the Turkish cities of Mugla and Izmir to assist in extinguishing forest fires. The planes were sent to Turkey in response to Ankara's request, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia reports in Telegram.

Large-scale forest fires continue in Turkey. On July 13, President of the Republic Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that he intends to talk with Vladimir Putin about buying amphibious aircraft from the Russian Federation designed to extinguish forest fires.

On July 14, a forest fire started near the airport of Bodrum, in the Dulkadiroglou district of the city of Kahramanmarash. On July 17, fires broke out 40 km from the Akkuyu nuclear power plant in the Turkish province of Mersin.

The day before, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced his intention to purchase Antonov large-body aircraft from the Russian Federation to extinguish fires.

It is noted that over the past day fires broke out in the provinces of Mugla, Mersin and Canakkale. In this regard, the Turkish leader held talks with the Minister of Internal Affairs and the Minister of Forestry.
