OREANDA-NEWS   More than 30 countries have already expressed their desire to participate in the upcoming BRICS summit (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) in South Africa, which thus may become the most representative in the history of the organization. The City Press newspaper published in Johannesburg writes about this on Thursday.

"Many countries are eager to participate in the forum, because they consider the BRICS as the fastest growing association capable of challenging NATO," the publication notes. - Among them are European, Arab and African states. South Africa expects that the summit will boost the country's economic growth, promote tourism and attract investment. President [of South Africa Cyril] Ramaposa has already expressed confidence in the success of the summit and called on the nation to show proper hospitality to the delegates arriving from all over the African continent and the world."

The BRICS Summit will be held from August 22 to 24 in Johannesburg. The presence is expected not only of the leaders of Brazil, India, China and South Africa, but also of the presidents and government representatives of other countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. 

Russia will be personally represented at the BRICS summit by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
