The prospects of lifting sanctions from Russia have been assessed

OREANDA-NEWS The option of easing (partial lifting) of anti-Russian sanctions is not provided for in the basic forecast for the development of the national economy. Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said there were no significant prerequisites for lifting some Western restrictions on Russia. His words are quoted by the newspaper Vedomosti.
The point about the possible partial lifting of Western sanctions is in many forecasts prepared by the Ministry of Economic Development. However, such a scenario is not the main one, and such a development is assessed as unlikely. The basic forecast, formed by the Russian government, does not include drastic changes in the sanctions policy of Western countries, Novak noted.
It is highly likely that the sanctions pressure on Russia will continue in the foreseeable future, he added. Against this background, the authorities and relevant departments of the country need to make every effort to find new incentives for the growth of the national economy within the country. There is no need to seek outside support now, Novak stressed. "The main factors of the development of the Russian economy are not outside, but inside our country," the Deputy Prime Minister concluded.
Earlier, Maxim Oreshkin, Deputy head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, said that the current model of growth of the national economy had actually exhausted itself. The previous breakthrough, he noted, was largely due to the fact that it was possible to tap into the dormant potential of the economy, primarily personnel and production. However, given the record low unemployment rate, it is unlikely to continue in the same spirit in the future. For a new breakthrough, first of all, technological resources are needed, which are currently in short supply in the country.
