OREANDA-NEWS The warships of the Russian Navy and the Naval Forces of the People's Liberation Army of China (PLA Navy) have covered more than 6,400 nautical miles in three weeks of joint maritime patrol of the Pacific Ocean and are currently operating in the waters of the East China Sea, the press service of the Pacific Fleet (TOF) reported on Friday.

"In the East China Sea, an exercise was conducted to replenish water and fuel reserves from support vessels by warships, and the transfer of cargo on the move by a traverse method was also practiced," the report says.

The large anti-submarine ship of the Pacific Fleet "Admiral Tributs" interacted with the ship of the integrated supply of the PLA Navy "Taihu".

"When following parallel courses, the crews trained to synchronize the speed and maintain the interval taking into account the displacement of ships, sea waves and wind speed," the fleet's press service emphasizes.

The TOPF points out that during the period of joint patrolling, the sailors of the two countries conducted anti-submarine exercises, repelled a simulated enemy air raid, conducted rescue training at sea, improved the skills of mutual takeoffs and landings of helicopters on the decks of warships.

As part of the international detachment, Russia is represented by the large anti-submarine ships Admiral Tributs and Admiral Panteleev, the corvettes Gremyashchy and Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov, as well as the medium sea tanker Pechenga. From the PLA Navy, the destroyers "Guiyang" and "Qiqihar", the patrol ships "Tongling" and "Zhizhao", the integrated supply ship "Taihu" take part in the patrol.

The current joint Russian-Chinese naval patrol is the third. The first was held in 2021, the second in the fall of 2022.
