OREANDA-NEWS. The accession of the Kherson region to Russia is a matter of time, Alexander Borodai, State Duma deputy, deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots, told NEWS.ru. The parliamentarian added that “the story with the so-called Ukraine is just beginning,” so the region’s entry into the Russian Federation is not a matter of the next few weeks.

In his opinion, much depends on the course of the special military operation of the Russian Federation in Ukraine. Thus, Borodai commented on the statement of the deputy head of the military-civilian administration of the Kherson region Kirill Stremousov.

I think that the Kherson region will become part of Russia. This is an absolutely logical step, which I strongly support. I think that this is a matter of time and the course of a special military operation, since the territories of the republics of Donbass are far from being completely liberated, the enemy group is still fighting. And she will resist in conditions when the West is waging an all-out war of annihilation against the Russian Federation. We see more and more detachments of Western mercenaries, in addition to Western weapons, including heavy ones - 155-mm guns have appeared, which we and the Warsaw Pact countries never had, Borodai noted.

He also did not rule out that Odessa, Dnepropetrovsk, Nikolaev, Zaporozhye and Kharkiv regions could follow the example of Kherson.

Stremousov said on the eve that the leadership of the Kherson region intends to appeal to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a request to accept the region into the Russian Federation. According to him, the referendum in Crimea showed that this way of entry is not accepted by the world community, so the decree of the leader of the Russian Federation is the only way out. At the same time, he denied the information that the region could accept the status of the "Kherson People's Republic" in the image of the DPR and LPR.

Earlier, the head of the Russian military-civilian administration of the region, Vladimir Saldo, said that the Kherson region had become part of the "big family" of Russia. He noted that travelers and tourists from any corner of the Russian Federation can easily visit the territory of the region. Saldo emphasized that the doors of the Kherson region are open to everyone who wants to visit the Black Sea.

On May 7, the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, announced that there were no government bodies controlled by Ukraine in the Kherson region, and its territory was completely liberated from nationalists. On the same day, Stremousov promised that he would take steps to join the Russian Federation.
