OREANDA-NEWS. The bill of deputies from the Liberal Democratic Party on sending to military service in the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR) people who were previously detained at illegal rallies against the use of the Armed Forces (AF) of the Russian Federation abroad has not been thought out. This was announced on March 3 by the head of the State Duma Committee on Defense, a deputy from United Russia Andrei Kartapolov.

“Our colleagues from the Liberal Democratic Party have all the right to initiate legislation. But, from my point of view, it is not very well thought out, because if a person goes to an unsanctioned rally, at which they call for obstructing our operation, which is now being carried out by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation [in Ukraine], then this person probably does not completely links his fate and life position with what the country and its armed forces are doing, ”TASS quotes him.

According to Kartapolov, "there is no need to talk about the reliability of such persons."

“Most likely, such a person will run away or surrender there,” the deputy explained.

The head of the committee expressed confidence that a more effective measure would be to show such people while serving an administrative arrest "documentary films about the atrocities of the national battalions, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which were and are being created in the Donbass."

“After 15 days of viewing all this content, I believe these people will change their mind and their position in life,” Kartapolov said, noting that when considering the bill, he will be able to convey this position to the members of his committee.

The day before, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov doubted the possibility of conscripting participants in illegal actions to the Donbass. He stressed that military service is a privilege, not a punishment.

Earlier that day, deputies from the Liberal Democratic Party submitted to the State Duma a bill on conscription and military service in the DPR and LPR of people prosecuted for participating in unauthorized actions against the Russian special operation to protect Donbass. According to the authors of the initiative, those who disagree with the conduct of the military operation and are ready to violate the law, seeking to stop it, "should see with their own eyes what the Kyiv regime has turned into the territory of these republics."
