OREANDA-NEWS There have been two solar flares of the penultimate power class. This is reported by experts from the Institute of Applied Geophysics (IPG).

The first outbreak was recorded on Wednesday, February 5, at 6:15 Moscow time. "In the X—ray range, an M1.2 flare lasting 10 minutes was recorded in the 3981 (N06W00) spot group," the scientists said.

The second, more powerful outbreak of M2.7, occurred on the same day at 10:50 Moscow time — its duration reached 13 minutes, experts added.

The Laboratory of Solar Astronomy of the IKI RAS and the ISSF SB RAS warned that the centers of solar activity continue to affect the Earth for at least two or three more days.

Earlier, IPG employees said that on Monday, February 3, the number of powerful solar flares increased from seven to nine. According to experts, two strong outbreaks were recorded — M6.1 at 16:18 Moscow time lasting 16 minutes and M1.4 at 12:13 lasting eight minutes, both in the 3981 spot group.
