OREANDA-NEWS  In the Khabarovsk Territory, three local residents will be tried for illegal extraction and trafficking of the Amur tiger. About this was reported in the Eastern Interregional Investigation Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

The men are accused under Article 258.1 ("Illegal extraction and trafficking of especially valuable wild animals and aquatic biological resources listed in the Red Book of the Russian Federation") The Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The case has been sent to court.

According to investigators, in March, the accused transported by car from the Lazo district to Khabarovsk illegally obtained carcass of a red book predator. The men tried to sell it for 700 thousand rubles to a Russian who acted as part of an operational search event conducted by the FSB of Russia. As a result, the violators were detained.

Earlier, a cache with the carcass of an Amur tiger was found in the Irradiated district of the Jewish Autonomous Region.
