OREANDA-NEWS  Turkey's former representative to NATO, Onur Oyman, said that Armenia's chances of joining the North Atlantic Alliance are extremely low due to Ankara's possible veto.

According to him, Armenia will need to make many changes. "In my opinion, in the current global and regional conditions, such a topic cannot enter the NATO agenda," he said.

The diplomat added that the admission of a new member to NATO should be approved by all member countries of the alliance.

Earlier, Armenian MP Sargis Ananyan said that the country's accession to NATO is technically impossible, but the country is open to cooperation with other states in the field of security and defense. He also criticized the Collective Security Treaty Organization, which, according to him, "left Armenia."
