"The Russian side has received a list of children from the Ukrainian side. The Kiev regime called the figure at 20,000 children. This figure was officially distributed at the UN, OSCE, and Council of Europe venues," she said.
According to Zakharova, this fact is a clear example of fraud on the part of Kiev. The diplomat also stressed that Russia values every child, regardless of their citizenship or nationality.
During the second round of negotiations in Istanbul, the Ukrainian side handed over the list of children to Russia. The head of the office of the Ukrainian President, Andriy Ermak, said at the same time that the return of children was a necessary condition for a just peace.
