OREANDA-NEWS  China's careful attitude towards monuments to Soviet soldiers should serve as an example for Europe. This was stated by Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin during a visit to the memorial of Soviet pilots in the Chinese city of Changchun, RIA Novosti reports.

"I would like to thank the country's leadership and the entire Chinese people for such attention and care for the memorials to the liberators, those who died giving their lives for the freedom of the Chinese people and peace on earth," the politician said.

Volodin stressed that China's respectful attitude towards monuments and memorials to Soviet soldiers is an example for European countries that "consider themselves more enlightened and capable of carrying certain values."

"China's example shows how to cherish the memory of our common history, respect the ashes of the victors and take care of their graves," he added.

Earlier, Volodin met with Chinese Leader Xi Jinping in Beijing. "On August 26, Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Volodin in Beijing," the statement said.
