OREANDA-NEWS. Music critic Yevgeny Babichev told NEWS.ru that with a 99% probability, representatives of Ukraine will win the Eurovision Song Contest 2022. In his opinion, it is impossible to imagine that someone else will win. The hall applauded the performance of the Ukrainian performers with applause, and the bookmakers also have no doubts about the victory of Ukraine, and there has never been such a gap from the pursuers in the history of the competition.

"I watched the semi-final, how they are received by the public, they stand in the hall, greet, such a standing ovation. The support is visible to the naked eye. I think that this should affect the viewers who vote during the live broadcast. There would be high scores, regardless of , what would be the number," Babichev believes.

At the same time, he noted that in terms of musical performance this year there is competition. In particular, the second semi-final will be opened by The Rasmus, a world-famous team representing Finland. Moreover, in the final, the UK will be represented by strong vocalist Sam Ryder, who is a social media star and has a huge audience.

"Now you just need to look for such a voice. The fact that the UK got it for the Eurovision Song Contest you just need to bow from the waist, because it is a diamond and a crystal. But I find myself thinking: is it really interesting for these strongest vocalists, popular groups to go to the contest and in advance know they're just extras? I would consider going or not going. Compared to last year's winning band Maneskin, they've become world music stars. One can imagine. If they came this year, what would motivate them: coolness or political principles? It would be interesting," summed up the music critic.

The International Song Contest Eurovision 2022 is taking place in Turin. The first semi-final was held on May 10, as a result of which performers from Armenia, Greece, Iceland, Lithuania, Moldova, the Netherlands, Ukraine, Norway, Portugal and Switzerland made it to the final.

On February 25, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) announced that Russian musicians will not participate in the Eurovision Song Contest this year, which will be held in Italy. Reportedly, this decision was made due to the aggravation of the situation in Ukraine.
