OREANDA-NEWS Singer Lena Katina admitted that she considered the performance of the Tatu group at the Eurovision Song Contest to be a disgrace. The actress stated this in an interview with journalist Alena Zhigalova.

The band member explained that at that time she and Yulia Volkova sang to the soundtrack at almost every performance. "And at Eurovision, you have to sing live! It's a different story altogether," Katina emphasized.

After returning to Russia, the singer watched a recording of Tatu's performance and wanted to leave show business, as the number seemed to her "terrible" and "shameful."

"I look and realize that it's just trash. I was so upset. I was overcome with depression," Katina shared.

Tatu began its history in 1999, and left the big stage in 2011. The highlight of their career was their participation in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2003, where the duo took third place. In 2025, the band announced the release of new songs and preparations for a world tour.
