OREANDA-NEWS. MNP Group together with Palmali Group and Marine Engineering Bureau (Odessa) have presented a shipbuilding project for serial tankers RST12, type “Novaya Volgoneft” with 6010 DWT for 47 vessels.

According to the press service of MNP Group, the project has been presented during the meeting of Shipping Companies Association. The meeting was dedicated to questions of government support of river fleet by means of leasing mechanism.

The tanker of RST12 project is a self-propelled vessel to be used for transportation of oil and oil products. The length of the tanker is 139,5 m; the breadth is 16,76 m; deadweight river/sea – 5170/6010 tones. The design of eco-safe tankers “Novaya Volgoneft” was worked out by Marine Design Bureau (Odessa, Ukraine). The Bureau has great experience of modern river vessels designing (during the period of 2001 – 2007 there were 25 new projects were worked for river vessels river-sea vessels).

There is more than 60% of current Volga-Caspian fleet built at MNP Group shipyards; more than 50% of newbuildings during the period 2003-2006 were ordered at MNP Group yards.

The leasing period of each tanker will not exceed 10-12 years provided the tanker is operated the whole year. The vessels are supposed to be registered at Russian International Register.

Palmali Group has wide experience of tanker fleet operation in inland waters of the Russian Federation. During the last three years the company has built in all 31 vessels at Russian shipyards.
