OREANDA-NEWS  Astronauts working on the International Space Station (ISS) performed another spacewalk on Tuesday to carry out routine installation work on the outside of the orbiting laboratory, NASA said.

French astronaut Sophie Adenault of the European Space Agency (ESA), for whom this will be the third consecutive trip into the vacuum of space since August, and NASA astronaut Jessica Meir will have to replace the retroreflector on the front port of the Harmony module, which is used to navigate the spacecraft during rendezvous and docking operations with the ISS.

After installing the reflector, the female duo will install connecting cables for data transmission systems, prepare the alpha magnetic spectrometer radiator for upcoming maintenance, and replace the high-resolution camera on the station's farm.

The exit from the Quest gateway module of the American segment of the station began at 08:30 East Coast time (at 15:30 Moscow time), it will last approximately 6.5 hours. This exit was the 284th in a row as part of the assembly, maintenance and modernization of the space station.

Currently, the ISS has a crew of seven people: Roscosmos cosmonauts Peter Dubrov, Anna Kikina and Andrey Fedyaev, NASA astronauts Jessica Meir, Anil Menon and Jack Hathaway, as well as ESA astronaut Sophie Adeno.
