OREANDA-NEWS Roscosmos has planned to launch six orbiting and landing automatic vehicles to the Moon. This is reported by TASS with reference to the head of the state corporation Dmitry Bakanov.

"Russia plans to launch a number of spacecraft for remote and contact lunar exploration," Bakanov said at a meeting of the heads of space agencies of the BRICS countries. These include the Luna-26 and Luna-29 orbiters. Roscosmos also plans to launch landers to various areas on the lunar surface — Luna-27 No. 1 and No. 2, Luna-28, Luna-30.

Dmitry Bakanov also said that Russia and China will jointly create an International lunar Station. 13 foreign partners have already joined the project. As part of this initiative, it is planned to place a power plant on the Moon.

The head of Roscosmos stressed that the Moon should become the second mainstay of mankind in space exploration. Bakanov called the development of the Earth's natural satellite one of the most ambitious tasks facing mankind since the first flight of cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin.
