OREANDA-NEWS This invention belongs to employees of two Harvard schools - the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and the Weiss Institute of Biological Inspiration. Researchers were able to implement a drug that is able to heal open wounds not only on the surface of organs, but also on the inner membranes of the mucosa. Most often, such a need arises from injuries of the gastrointestinal tract.

Scientists were able to make a substance that fixes on the surfaces of the mucous membranes. It is noted that the presence of bacteria in the composition of the product allows it to work much longer.

Nevertheless, the experts did not stop there and developed several more of its types on the basis of the drug, changing the composition. This made it possible to narrow its action by directing it to specific organs, based on its microflora. Scientists also made drugs in the form of a capsule, which begins to act some time after ingestion, reaching distant gastrointestinal tracts.
