OREANDA-NEWS The creation of Russia's first fully electric aircraft engine has begun, which will be used in passenger aircraft and heavy drones, Alexey Rogozin, chairman of the scientific and technical council of the Ecolibri developer company.

Representatives of the company added that the development is planned to be used further in automotive technology and shipbuilding. At the same time, the newest aircraft engine will run on fully import-substituted components.

The electric motor will be registered according to all the requirements of Russian aviation and comply with international standards. An innovative development is the gearless transmission of the engine. This will improve energy performance and its resource.

For the safety of transporting heavy loads and passengers, the new aircraft engine will be equipped with a capacity from 10 to 200 kW.Also, development involves duplication and redundancy of nodes and its circuits.
