OREANDA-NEWS The share of Windows 10 among all Microsoft operating systems has plummeted. This is reported in the latest StatCounter report.

The company's analysts estimated that according to data for June 2025, the share of Windows 10 was 48.9 percent. At the same time, a month ago this figure was 53.2 percent. The share of Windows 11, on the contrary, increased — from 43.2 to 48 percent.

Windows 10 and 11 are the most popular Microsoft operating systems by a wide margin. Windows 7, XP and 8 are below, which received 2, 0.4 and 0.3 percent, respectively.

"Windows 10 is the only factor contributing to an increase in the market share of Windows 11," Neowin journalists commented on the results of the study. In their opinion, the share of Windows 11 is steadily growing due to the fact that Microsoft will stop supporting the popular Windows 10 in October.

In Russia, Windows 10 remains the most popular OS by a wide margin. Its share decreased slightly over the month, from 74.8 to 74.6 percent. Windows 11 remained in second place, with a 19.6 percent share in June.

Earlier, Tom's Guide journalists listed ways to maintain Windows 10 support after October 2025. Among other things, they noted that Microsoft will update the OS for free when using the Windows Backup backup feature.
