OREANDA-NEWS. On April 16, 2007 Gazprommedstrakh, part of SOGAZ Insurance Group, has concluded a contract for compulsory medical insurance of employees of Oktyabrskaya Zheleznaya Doroga, an OJSC Russian Railways affiliate. The number of policy holders is 13,000 people, reported the press-centre of SOGAZ.
OJSC Gazprommedstrakh has been active in St. Petersburg since December 1999. Before that the company ensured employees of OJSC Russian Railways in Arkhangelsk and Rostov regions.
Founded on 1st April 1998, Gazprommedstrakh specialises in the implementation of the Compulsory Medical Insurance (CMI) program. A major medical insurance company in Russia, Gazprommedstrakh has insured over 8,8 million people. One of the many advantages is a developed regional network, with 275 subdivisions located in more than 46 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. In 2006, the company’s CMI revenue amounted to 15,506 million rubles; according to this figure, Gazprommedstrakh is rated third in the ranking for Russia’s medical insurance companies and seventh in the general ranking for insurance companies. The company’s statutory capital is 102,5 million rubles.
