OREANDA-NEWS. October 23, 2009. The Moscow Arbitration Court pronounced validity of the decision of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) regarding "Voskresensk Mineral Fertilizers" OJSC, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

On 22nd April 2009, FAS Russia found that "Voskresensk Mineral Fertilizers" OJSC violated Article 10 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition" (prohibiting abusing dominant position). "Voskresensk Mineral Fertilizers" OJSC violated the law by refusing to supply sulphate-free phosphoric acid to "Voskresensk Research Institute of Fertilizers (NIUiF)" OJSC in 2008 without any technological or economic justification.

FAS Russia analyzed the market of sulphate-free phosphoric acid and established that "Voskresensk Mineral Fertilizers" OJSC had dominant position on the relevant market.

 "Voskresensk Mineral Fertilizers" OJSC and "Voskresensk Research Institute of Fertilizers (NIUiF)" OJSC were designed as a single research and production facility. Later they belong to different owners.

Until August 2008 "Voskresensk Mineral Fertilizers" OJSC supplied sulphate-free phosphoric acid to "Voskresensk Research Institute of Fertilizers (NIUiF)" OJSC, which used is for production of purifies phosphoric acids.

After August 2008, "Voskresensk Mineral Fertilizers" OJSC unilaterally stopped supplying the acid to the research institute in breach of the antimonopoly legislation.

FAS Russia fined the company 1,541,304 Rubles for antimonopoly violations.

The products of processing sulphate-free phosphoric acid are also used in car-making and food industry.
