Pulkovo Airport Announced 4M Basic Operational Activities
OREANDA-NEWS. June 10, 2010. According to April results passenger traffic had a total enrolment of 522 691 people, which is 20,3% more than it was in April 2009, including:
International airlines passenger traffic to foreign countries in April 2010 had a total enrolment of 194 351 people, which is 10,6% more than the number of passengers carried in April 2009.
Domestic airlines passenger traffic had a total enrolment of 284 164 people, which is 25,3% more than in April 2009.
Passenger traffic to the countries of CIS increased by 39,0% and had a total enrolment of 44 176 people.
The number of takeoff and landing operations increased by 7,6% in April 2010 and had a total enrolment of 6 820 takeoffs and landings. The volume of handled gross take-off weight (GTOW) is 220 859 tons, the increase is 0,5% as compared with the same period in 2009.
The first 4 months results of 2010:
According to the first 4 months of 2010 results passenger traffic of Pulkovo Airport had a total enrolment of 1 945 210 people, which is 26,6% more than the activities of the first 4 months of 2009, including:
International airlines passenger traffic to the foreign countries for the first 4 months in 2010 had a total enrolment of 743 735 people, which is 18,9% more than the number of passengers, carried during the first 4 months in 2009.
Domestic airlines passenger traffic had a total enrolment of 1 042 712 people, which is 33,6% more than during the first 4 months in 2009.
Passenger traffic to the countries of CIS increased by 21,3% and had a total enrolment of 158 763 people.
The number of takeoff and landing operations increased by 10,9% during the first 4 months in 2010 and had a total enrolment of 26 280 takeoffs and landings. The volume of handled gross take-off weight (GTOW) is 868 145 tons, the increase is 4,9% as compared with the same period in 2009.

Michael Richter, New Chief Operations Officer at Pulkovo Airport Saint-Petersburg, informed the audience about airport’s future development plans, building of new terminal and his intentions to improve the services. “Our aim for the future is to make it as convenient as possible for our common customers, the passengers.”
Lasantha Subasinghe, IATA – Representative, raised the points of economic crisis and its influence on world aviation industry. “NCG LLC should attract new carriers for Pulkovo airport at competitive prices, so to be able to increase traffic, income and justify the expectations of the investors and passengers.
