OREANDA-NEWS The US Agency for International Development said it delivered 5,000 SpaceX Starlink terminals to Ukraine to improve access to the Internet for residents of the country after the start of the Russian military operation. This was reported by a source of The Washington Post. The US Agency for International Development (USAID) has confirmed these data

«The terminals will allow government officials and critical service providers to stay connected even if Russia shuts down other communications infrastructure in Ukraine», the agency said in a statement.

Recall that in early March, Prime Minister Denis Shmigal said that Ukraine expects to receive up to «5 thousand» Starlink terminals. Three quarters — 3,667 units (with a total cost of $10 million) — are gratuitous assistance from the American company SpaceX, which also provides the satellite Internet service itself for free (the standard subscription fee for the service is $99 per month).
