OREANDA-NEWS  The Russian authorities have developed support measures for the coal industry to help promising organizations that are experiencing temporary difficulties, said Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

"In recent years, the industry has faced new serious challenges ... a number of measures have been developed to even out the situation. We need to help promising organizations that are experiencing temporary difficulties," he said during a meeting on the situation in the coal industry.

The Russian government expects that the measures to support the coal industry in Russia, developed following the visit of federal officials to Kemerovo, will help balance the situation, Mishustin said.

"They (Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, Energy Minister Sergey Tsivilev, head of Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov - ed.) visited the Kemerovo region, discussed the most pressing tasks with the management and employees of coal enterprises, and presented me with a number of proposals. Now we will discuss all this in detail, report to the president, hoping that this will allow us to make all the necessary decisions to balance this situation," he said.
Mishustin announced the meeting on the situation in the coal industry at a meeting with the head of Russian Railways last week.
