OREANDA-NEWS  Novatek gas production company is ready to buy Shell's share (27.5%) in the Sakhalin-2 project, it has already informed the government about this, Kommersant writes, citing sources.

According to the newspaper, the company also asked to speed up the process of assessing the damage suffered by Sakhalin-2 from Shell's activities.

On February 21, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak announced the absence of applications for the purchase of Shell shares. At the same time, he noted that the assessment of damage from the activities of foreign shareholders on the project will be completed in the near future. In December, the government estimated Shell's share at 94.8 billion rubles.
