OREANDA-NEWS Russian gas supplies are relevant against the background of constant structural and price changes in the world. Serbian government Minister Nenad Popovic spoke about the importance of fuel imports, as quoted by TASS.

On the sidelines of the Innoprom exhibition, a representative of a European country said that Serbia was grateful to Russia for reliable gas supplies.

"This is a very important energy source for Serbia, especially at the present time, when the global market is constantly undergoing structural and price changes," he explained.

Popovic also said that it is important for Serbia that it pays the lowest price for gas from Gazprom, and at the same time does not pay fines for increasing or decreasing supplies. Such conditions are the result of excellent relations between Presidents Alexander Vucic and Vladimir Putin.

Earlier, Gazprom reported that the company would continue to supply gas to Serbia, as well as the Republika Srpska, which is part of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Alexey Miller, the head of the company, held a working meeting at SPIEF 2026 with Milorad Dodik, chairman of the Union of Independent Social Democrats of Republika Srpska, at which an agreement was reached to extend the relevant agreement.
