OREANDA-NEWS Qatar's Energy Minister Saad bin Sharida al-Kaabi said that if the EU does not soften its standards in environmental policy, his country may suspend supplies of liquefied natural gas (LNG). This is reported by TASS.
According to the Energy Minister, Europe's demand to achieve zero emissions is unrealistic. In the first quarter of 2025, Qatar became the third largest exporter of LNG to the EU after the United States and Russia.
Saad bin Sharida al-Kaabi promised back in December 2024 that the country would stop supplying liquefied natural gas to the European Union if countries imposed fines on large companies.
