OREANDA-NEWS The Arbitration Court of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region has banned the Czech gas pipeline operator Net4Gas from suing Gazprom and Gazprom Export outside of Russia on the relevant claim. This is reported by Vedomosti.

In case of non—fulfillment of this requirement, both Russian companies will have to receive almost 58 million euros and 18 percent in rubles on the payment date, and separately Gazprom will additionally receive more than 60 million euros and 36 percent in rubles.

This is how the Russian company reacted to the proceedings before the Arbitration Court of the Czech Economic and Agrarian Chambers. Net4Gas complained about the non-receipt of monthly payments for the use of its gas transmission system. According to the contract, these payments from the Russian side are mandatory, and Net4Gas owns the exclusive right to transport natural gas through the Czech Republic.

The operator announced the problem in early 2023. In 2024, Russian arbitration had already prohibited Net4Gas from continuing arbitration proceedings with Gazprom Export in the Czech Republic. Gazprom has achieved similar results in Russian courts after the same type of lawsuits against many other European companies.
