OREANDA-NEWS  Udmurtneft Company (operated by Rosneft and the Chinese Petrochemical Corporation Sinopec) has used the first electric mobile drilling rig of domestic production. This is stated in the message of Rosneft.

The company notes that by replacing the traditional diesel engine with an electric drive, the environmental impact is minimized. In addition, switching to an electric drilling rig has reduced the company's energy consumption costs by 30 percent, saving about 1 million rubles per well.

The load capacity of the installation is 180 tons, it moves on a mobile semi-trailer chassis. The driller's workplace is equipped with a comfortable enclosed cabin with joystick control. The electric power drive made it possible to speed up the preparation for drilling operations by 12 hours, and reduce the time for scheduled preventive repairs.

Currently, a new drilling rig is being used at the Mishkinskoye field of Udmurtneft. In the future, the capabilities of the domestic machine will be used in other fields of the enterprise. Another similar drilling rig is planned to be commissioned this fall, the company said.
