OREANDA-NEWS By the end of June, Russia's total revenues from the export of oil and petroleum products decreased by almost $ 5 billion in monthly terms. A noticeable drop in the indicator is reported in the monthly report of the International Energy Agency (IEA).
During the reporting period, the total income of Russian exporters from the sale of oil and petroleum products dropped to $ 15.84 billion, analysts said.
Experts recorded a drop in income despite a sharp increase in shipments of raw materials. Thus, in June, the average daily export of Russian oil increased by 620 thousand barrels compared to May and reached a maximum of 5.8 million since 2022. Large discounts on Urals and an embargo on the supply of jet fuel and gasoline abroad did not allow Russia to increase revenues from oil exports, the experts concluded.
The negative dynamics was also recorded in the first half of the year. According to the preliminary estimate of the Ministry of Finance, during this time, Russia's oil and gas revenues sank by 22.7 percent compared to the same period in 2025 and dropped to 3.661 trillion rubles. Analysts attributed the increasing impact of Western sanctions, which significantly limited the access of Russian raw materials to the global market, to the main reasons for this trend. The situation was also affected by the fall in world oil prices in previous periods, the ministry concluded.
