OREANDA-NEWS. June 03, 2016. Less than a week before California's June 7 presidential primary, presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump won't be going inside Intel.

The New York Times yesterday reported that Intel CEO Brian Krzanich canceled a planned fundraiser at his home in the posh Silicon Valley suburb of Atherton. According to the newspaper, the event was to include a "a full exchange of views."

In an emailed statement, an Intel spokeswoman said that Krzanich is not endorsing any presidential candidate and that the company "is interested in engaging both campaigns in open dialogue on issues important to the technology industry."

Trump will be in the Bay Area hosting a campaign rally in San Jose tonight, June 2, instead. The candidate's campaign didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.

To date, few tech industry leaders have yet to openly declare their support for Trump, though PayPal co-founder and Facebook board member Peter Thiel will be a Trump delegate to the Republican national convention in July.
