OREANDA-NEWS. June 06, 2016. Greensboro Coliseum Complex has turned to Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, for video and scoring upgrades to entertain fans in 2016. A new video display for the aquatics center was installed this spring and two new auxiliary displays for the fieldhouse, which hosts basketball, volleyball and wrestling events, will be installed this fall.

"The new Daktronics video display at the Greensboro Aquatic Center (GAC) has been a huge hit with meet organizers, competitors and spectators," said Greensboro Aquatic Center Manager Susan Braman. "We continue to make capital improvements at the GAC to maintain it as a state-of-the-art venue and the addition of this new video display certainly helps add to its reputation as one of the top aquatic facilities in the nation."

The main aquatics LED video display measures approximately 9.5 feet high by 16.5 feet wide and features 15 millimeter line spacing. It provides crisp, clear imagery with wide angle visibility to all spectators during events. Capable of variable content zoning, this display can show one large image or show multiple forms of content in smaller windows all at the same time. Content such as live video, instant replays, statistics and results, graphics and animations, and sponsorship messages can be shown on the display at any time during events.

Two scoreboards will be installed inside the fieldhouse to enhance the experience for sponsors and fans at events. These displays incorporate fixed-digit scoring and statistic displays with team name message centers as well as LED advertising displays measure more than 5 feet high by 3 feet wide and feature 15 millimeter line spacing.

"We're excited to build upon our long-standing relationship with the Greensboro Coliseum Complex," said Corey Williams, Daktronics sales representative. "The Greensboro Aquatic Center is an amazing facility that is always busy with great events. The addition of this video display will complement their main video display and enhance the fan experience.

"The Greensboro Coliseum Complex Fieldhouse will be another great facility once its renovation is complete.  The new scoreboards will provide fans with real-time scoring information which will add to the atmosphere on game day."

Six locker room clocks, three game clocks and three backboard lighting kits were also included with this project to help the venue host a wide variety of events.

Daktronics LED video and messaging display technology offers a long lifetime with consistent, industry-leading performance and low power consumption, providing value and excitement for years to come.
