OREANDA-NEWS. According to the data of analytic agency "AUTOSTAT", for the first 5 months of 2016 it was sold 157 000 new passenger cars in Moscow and the Moscow region. It is less by 13% than in the same period of the last year (181 thousand units). Recall that the Russian car market as a whole fell by 14.5% in January-May of 2016. That is, the deals of the metropolitan dealers are slightly better than the regional ones have.

The share of the Moscow region in total sales in Russia for the first five months was 30%, ascertain analysts. Therewith, the metropolitan dealers sell some cars to buyers visitors. According to the director of the agency "AUTOSTAT", Sergey Tselikov, the every fourth new car (24%), which is sold in Moscow, is registered as a result in the Russian regions. The most popular destination – is the south, where less developed dealer networks of a number of brands. And the inhabitants of other regions go oftener to the capital to buy the premium brand cars than the mass ones.

The most popular car brand in the capital has become a Korean KIA (20839 units), which increased its sales by 18%. On the second place there is Hyundai (18392 units), which diminished capital sales by 16.5%. The third place, with the increased sales by 11%, is occupied by Toyota (11939 units). It managed to be ahead slightly of Nissan (11109 units), which in January-May was in the red by 21%.
