Russian fishermen reduced their fish catch to 4.6 million tons in 2025.

OREANDA-NEWS The catch of fish in the Russian Federation, according to the industry monitoring system, amounted to 4 million 638.7 thousand tons, Rosrybolovstvo reported on Tuesday.
In 2024, Russian fishermen caught 4.9 million tons of fish.
As Rosrybolovstvo reported earlier, this year the fishermen were "let down" by the Iwasi sardine, which did not enter the Russian exclusive economic zone. According to the Fish Union, the catch of this fish has decreased by 10 times.
This year, 3.57 million tons of fish were produced in the Far Eastern basin, including 2.15 million tons of pollock (171.9 thousand tons more), 114.5 thousand tons of cod (+8 thousand tons), Pacific herring – 575.4 thousand tons (+131.4 thousand tons). Fishermen of the Northern Basin received 312.8 thousand tons, the Western - 77.1 thousand tons, the Volga-Caspian - 80.1 thousand tons. Rosrybolovstvo does not provide the dynamics of catch in these basins.
In the Azov-Black Sea basin, the catch increased by a third to 47 thousand tons.
In the exclusive economic zones of foreign countries, convention areas and the open part of the World Ocean, Russian fishermen extracted 502.7 thousand tons of aquatic biological resources, which is 1% more than a year earlier.
