OREANDA-NEWS The Ministry of Agriculture will think about how to resolve the issue of red caviar in the context of climate change and reduced salmon fishing, Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut told reporters.

"Our climate is changing. The salmon didn't come in. Well, I didn't go in, that's all... Of course, I would not like to remain without red caviar. We will think about what to do about it, but this is nature," she said.
 
As Ilya Shestakov, head of Rosrybolovstvo, said earlier in October, the salmon harvest in Russia this year was unsuccessful - the catch will be about 100 thousand tons (against the predicted 227 thousand tons), and the main reason for this was climate change. According to Shestakov, this year the fish could not even enter the rivers everywhere due to the warm weather.
 
At the same time, he stated that there would be enough red caviar on the Russian market for everyone by the New Year.
