OREANDA-NEWS European coffin manufacturers are concerned about competition from China and want to ask Brussels to conduct an inspection, Politico newspaper writes.

Industry representatives note that in these circumstances, over the past five years, about a quarter of European companies operating in this field have closed. Some of the remaining members have already formed a "coalition" and met with representatives of the European Commission.

"The group is preparing an anti—dumping complaint request to the EU with a request to investigate whether Chinese coffin manufacturers are selling their products in Europe at unfairly low prices," the article says, citing the organizers of the initiative.

European manufacturers estimate that a coffin in China is about three times cheaper than, for example, in Italy, even if it is made of the same type of wood.
