OREANDA-NEWS   The new GOST for beer, which comes into force on January 1, 2027, will allow producers to produce beer of various styles and use the most popular types of brewing and special malts, and it will also make the drink more understandable to Russian consumers, Chairman of the Council of the Union of Russian Brewers Daniil Briman told RIA Novosti.

According to the data on the official website of Rosstandart, the updated GOST R 72295-2025 "Beer. General Technical Conditions" was adopted and comes into force on January 1, 2027.

"GOST will allow producing beer of various styles, using the most popular types of brewing and special malts. Thus, the consumer will receive more diverse beers. The beer market and beer itself are becoming more understandable from the point of view of consumers, and the domestic brewing industry is receiving a powerful incentive to move to a qualitatively new level," said Briman.
