OREANDA-NEWS  Since September 1, the Russian government has been tightening control over the observance by foreign cargo carriers of the rules for paying for toll roads, the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation reported.

"Since September 1, control over compliance with the rules for paying for toll roads for foreign carriers has been tightened. The relevant changes have been approved by the government," the ministry said in a statement to Maks.

The Ministry of Transport clarified that now trucks weighing over 12 tons belonging to foreign carriers will not be able to cross the Russian border either to enter or exit if their owners have outstanding debts for travel on toll roads, as well as for compensation for damage to roads.
