OREANDA-NEWS  Administrative responsibility for violations of safety rules for the transportation of children has been strengthened since January 9, 2026, according to the website of the Russian State Traffic Inspectorate.

"Today, the provisions of Federal Law No. 525-FZ dated December 29, 2025 "On Amendments to Article 12.23 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation" come into force. The specified Federal Law strengthens administrative responsibility for violations of safety rules when transporting children," the message says.

The ministry noted that changes were made to part 3 of Article 12.23 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation, in particular, from today, violation of the requirements for the transportation of children established by the rules of the road entails the imposition of an administrative fine on the driver in the amount of 5 thousand rubles, previously the amount of this fine was 3 thousand rubles. As added in the traffic police, the amount of the fine has increased for officials – from 25 thousand rubles to 50 thousand rubles, as well as for legal entities – from 100 thousand rubles to 200 thousand rubles.
