OREANDA-NEWS  Monthly sales of electric vehicles in the domestic market rose for the first time in more than a year, adding 15 percent in July. This is reported by Autostat.

According to the data provided, 1,257 new electric cars were sold in Russia last month, and 1,094 such cars were sold a year earlier during the same period.

Among the brands, the Chinese Zeekr turned out to be the sales leader in July with 313 cars sold. The top 3 also includes the domestic brands Moskvich and Evolute, which sold 249 and 224 electric cars, respectively.

The mark of one thousand electric vehicles sold was overcome for the first time since the beginning of this year, and in general, the last time the indicator showed growth was in June 2024, when it added 2 percent, agency experts say. According to the results of seven months of 2025, the Russian electric car market is halving, to 5,655 cars sold, they indicate.

In mid-June, it became known that the Russian Cabinet of Ministers had established the priority of electric cars and gas-powered vehicles over gasoline and diesel vehicles in public procurement. Cars powered by traditional fuels were allowed to be purchased under the relevant procedures only if it was impossible to purchase electric vehicles and gas-powered cars.
