OREANDA-NEWS By the end of October, 132.9 thousand new passenger cars were sold in Russia, which is 19.8 percent less than in the same period a year earlier, although it is eight percent more than in September. This is reported by the agency "Autostat".

The Lada brand retains market leadership — 29.7 thousand cars, which is 10.7 percent less than in October 2025. At the same time, the Russian manufacturer's market share increased from 20.7 percent to 22.35 percent.

Haval came in second place and was the best among foreign brands with 16.9 thousand units. Its sales fell by 35.4 percent year-on-year, and its market share decreased from 15.77 percent to 12.69 percent.

The Russian Tenet brand closes the top three with 15.3 thousand cars (plus 77.1 percent in annual terms). Sales of each of the other brands amounted to less than 10 thousand cars, and Changan, Jetour and Mazda were able to improve their results compared to last year.

In ten months, 1.1 million new passenger cars were sold in Russia, which is 3.7 percent more than in 2025. Tenet's sales increased the most — by 10.3 times, while Lada, Belgee, Geely and Changan went into negative territory.

Earlier, Dmitry Klementyev, deputy head of the Department for the Automotive Industry and Railway Engineering at the Ministry of Industry and Trade, suggested that AvtoVAZ's production and sales could fall by 20-25 percent by the end of the year amid the suspension of government demand support programs through preferential car loans.

However, First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov later promised that from December 1, the program would be resumed at the expense of funds that were supposed to be spent for this purpose next year.
