OREANDA-NEWS As part of cooperation with Kyrgyzstan, Russia is ready to consider localizing the production of its own brand cars in the republic. Roman Chekushov, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, told about this on the sidelines of the Kyrgyz-Russian Economic Forum, RIA Novosti reports.

According to him, Russia has "good competencies in passenger cars and trucks," so domestic manufacturers are determined to negotiate contracts for the creation of joint ventures in the republic. Chekushov pointed out that such a development would make it possible to develop competencies within Kyrgyzstan.

He also added that Russian investors are interested in other areas, such as solar energy, wind power generation and nuclear power generation.

Earlier, against the background of weak demand for their products, several Russian automakers introduced a shortened working week. In particular, KAMAZ, Gorky Automobile Plant and Likinsky Bus Plant (LiAZ) had to take such measures.

AvtoVAZ also intends to consider the issue of switching to a shortened schedule in the fall. At the same time, representatives of the company have so far denied information that the decision has already been made.
