Shacman to recall more than 2.1 thousand trucks in Russia to eliminate violations

OREANDA-NEWS The official representative of the Chinese automaker Shacman (Shakman Motors LLC) in the Russian market will recall more than 2.1 thousand Shacman SX3258 trucks in Russia, the import and sale of which were suspended by local regulatory authorities last year, Rosstandart reported.
Last year, according to the results of an unscheduled inspection conducted jointly with the prosecutor's office in relation to Shakman Motors LLC, it revealed a number of violations, as a result of which the OTTS (vehicle type approval) for cars of this model was withdrawn. A representative of Shacman was ordered to conduct recall campaigns to eliminate the identified violations. It follows from the message from Rosstandart that the relevant measures have been agreed for 2,116 thousand trucks.
In particular, 1,996 thousand cars that have not yet been registered fell under the recall. Violations of the configuration of the side protection devices and the design of the rear rollback protection are supposed to be eliminated on these vehicles. On recalled vehicles, a side cover will be installed to the air filter fastener and protective plugs will be mounted on the protruding bolts of its fastening. In addition, the locks of the rear side of the body will be replaced.
120 trucks of the same model, sold from June to November 2022, also fell under the recall. It is planned to check the condition of the mufflers of pneumatic devices and vibration-sound insulation on these vehicles, fix the muffler properly if it is fixed incorrectly, or install a new muffler if it is missing or damaged. It is also planned to dismantle the existing side protection device and install a new one, correctly mounted. In addition, it is planned to dismantle the bolts of the rear protective device with the installation of new mounting bolts.
Authorized representatives of Shakman Motors LLC will notify the owners of the recalled vehicles by letter or by phone of the need to arrive at the nearest dealership to carry out the necessary work.
