Moskvich is a Soviet-Russian brand. The company was opened in 1930 and has been operating since then under different names, from the Moscow Automobile Assembly Plant named after the Communist Youth International to JSC Moskvich, and ceased to exist in 2010. The idea to breathe life into a well-known brand came to the Russian authorities after the Renault brand left Russia in the spring of 2022, when the French transferred their capacities to the Moscow government.
