OREANDA-NEWS Train traffic on the Zvezda - Chapaevsk section in the Samara region was suspended due to an incident on the railway bridge over the Chapaevka River on Monday morning, according to the telegram channel of Russian Railways.

"On March 4, at 6:56 Moscow time, due to the incident on the railway bridge over the Chapaevka River, train traffic on the Zvezda - Chapaevsk (Samara region) stage was suspended," the message says.

There were no injuries as a result of the incident.

Trains are delayed: No. 32 Moscow - Orsk, No. 50 Moscow - Samara, No. 10 Moscow - Samara, No. 7574 Syzran - Mirnaya, No. 7104 Syzran - Samara. Changes in the commuter train timetable are expected.

As the emergency services told Interfax, a malfunction in the train schedule occurred "due to the illegal interference of unauthorized persons in the operation of railway transport."

"There is no destruction of the support (bridge - IF). There is damage to the railway track. This is a two-track section, now we need to go in for an examination. Machinery and equipment are ready for restoration work. Previously, it will take several hours, but so far the cordon has not been lifted, law enforcement agencies are working," the agency interlocutor said.
