OREANDA-NEWS Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan discussed on Monday with his counterpart from the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the possibility of signing an agreement on bilateral defense cooperation, the press service of the Armenian military department reported.

Papikyan is in the UAE on a working visit.

"During the meeting, a number of issues related to the possibilities of defense cooperation between Armenia and the UAE were discussed. The parties expressed their readiness to develop bilateral cooperation in the field of defense and to sign an agreement on cooperation between Armenia and the UAE in the field of defense for this purpose," the statement said.

It is noted that the document should define the main areas of cooperation.

Regional and international security issues were also discussed, the press service said.
