OREANDA-NEWS The Bali branch of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights has installed billboards along the roads with inscriptions in Russian warning tourists about the consequences of working in Indonesia on a tourist visa, the local Kompass portal reports.

"We welcome all foreign tourists to Bali. As tourists, you are not allowed to work for any job in Indonesia. Any foreign citizen who shows disrespect or violates the current legislation in Indonesia will be deported and banned from entering," the warning says verbatim. The same text is also duplicated in the English translation.

Putu Sukhendra Tresnadita, head of Communications at the Immigration Bureau at Denpasar Airport, explained that the billboards are an appeal to foreign tourists. According to him, foreign citizens are not allowed to work in Indonesia as tourists. "If a foreigner violates the rules, he can be deported and banned from entering," Tresnadita explained. Russian Russian language usage on billboards in addition to English is associated with a large number of Russian foreigners in Bali, he said. "It is expected that with billboards in Russian, they will be able to easily understand the content of the appeal," the publication explains.

Earlier, Bali Governor Wayan Koster proposed to cancel the simplified procedure for obtaining visas at the airport on arrival for citizens of Russia and Ukraine due to their numerous violations of Indonesian legislation. Indonesia deported 47 people from Bali on March 20, including 13 Russians, due to non-compliance with the rules of a tourist visa.
